CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS – for in-person clients on Wednesdays and virtual clients on Fridays

Jennifer Munroe provides counselling and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.

Jennifer is passionate about supporting youth and young adults who may be experiencing a wide range of concerns. She works collaboratively with her clients to identify what brings them purpose and joy, and to identify the strengths that will support them on their journey to reach their identified goals. Jennifer challenges herself to create an open, safe, and humble therapeutic space that is both trauma-informed and and-oppressive.

Jennifer Munroe has experience supporting clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, social-emotional difficulties including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder, behavioural challenges, learning difficulties and school avoidance, and self-harm and suicidal ideation. She has also worked with families who have experienced separation/divorce and/or have custody and access concerns, as well as with adopted and blended families, and families who have been impacted by domestic violence. She has a special interest in working with children, youth, and their families.

Jennifer incorporates current research and best practices from the following approaches: Emotion-focused family therapy and attachment, narrative therapy, and EMDR for stabilization, grounding, and trauma processing, including specific training in using playful approaches for exploring trauma with younger populations. She also incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to support direct skill building and perspective taking.
