Registered Psychotherapist
Wendy Spenst is a Registered Psychotherapist (#005601) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and practices at Village Professional Services. She completed her B.A. Honours in psychology at Carleton University and then her M.Ed. in Counselling Education at The University of Ottawa.
She provides individual/group counselling and psychotherapy to adults/families with an acquired/traumatic brain injury, and post-concussion syndrome. Wendy has over 30 years experience within mental health & physical rehabilitation hospital care & community services.
Wendy received her certification (with distinction) for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2018 and currently working on her CBT hours to register with the Beck Institute of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She has also completed Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) training (January 2020). Conditions treated include: depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma, adjustment difficulties & interpersonal relationships.
Wendy believes that the client-therapist relationship is the foundation of psychotherapy. It is a collaborative process of exploring and understanding thoughts/behaviours to increase function and engagement in one’s life.
Fees
Fees for service are $150.00 for a 60 minute session. Accepted payments are cheque, cash or e-transfer. At the end of each session you will be provided with a receipt which you can submit to third party insurance. Please verify if you insurer requires supervision by a psychologist to establish that service during your course of treatment.
